Himure Hachimangu, Omihachiman, Shiga.

I visited Shiga back in 2016 in January.  I was expecting it to be cold but I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up in the morning.  A fresh layer of snow had fallen in the early hours of the morning which was great.   Walking around on the fresh snow is great but unfortunately it isn’t really good for taking photos.  It was really hard to extract any colours.

I walked around the canal area for about 2 hours which was very interesting. There are many small local shops selling local Shiga products and the is a nice tea and sweets shop next to the shrine. It is called Taneya tea and sweets shop.

I’d like to go go back here during the spring or autumn when everything is green. The canals must look so beautiful.
